Job Description:
Forgotten Tonic is seeking a Hospitality Manager to help lead our Dining Room team and uphold the high standards that define our guest experience.
We are a hidden neighborhood gem with a reputation for genuine hospitality, a scratch kitchen, a top-notch cocktail program, and a team that is happy, knowledgeable, and committed to creating memorable experiences. Forgotten Tonic is a breeding ground for hospitality professionals, and we are looking for a leader who wants to grow with a culture-driven restaurant that values excellence, accountability, and people.
This is an on-the-floor leadership role focused on leading servers and hosts, strengthening training and accountability, and improving both the guest and team experience. We are looking for someone who leads from the floor, communicates clearly, holds standards without ego, and believes hospitality matters more than service alone.
Hospitality Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead Dining Room service each shift with confidence, urgency, and professionalism.
- Directly oversee and support servers and hosts in daily operations.
- Create a warm, polished, and hospitality-driven experience for every guest.
- Coach team members in real time to improve performance, consistency, and confidence.
- Strengthen training and accountability across the Dining Room team.
- Write weekly server and host schedules that support guest experience while meeting labor goals.
- Lead daily pre-shift huddles and ongoing team communication.
- Address guest concerns professionally and document incidents when necessary.
- Approve and apply discounts to guest checks when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with company standards for service, sanitation, safety, grooming, attire, and facility care.
- Maintain a visible leadership presence on the floor and step into any FOH role as needed.
- Help build a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, solving problems, and following through.
- Support quarterly inventories and other operational responsibilities as assigned.
Hospitality Manager Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Florida Food Manager Certification required within 90 days of hire.
- English required.
- Experience in a full-service restaurant required. High volume preferred.
- Management experience preferred, but we are open to strong servers or bartenders ready to step into leadership.
- Open availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lead from the floor and remain calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Polished appearance and professional presence.
- Punctual, organized, and accountable.
- Able to hold team members accountable while maintaining respect and professionalism.
- No ego, no entitlement, and no fear of face-to-face leadership.
What We’re Looking For:
The right candidate is humble (lacking excessive ego), hungry (driven and diligent), and smart (possessing emotional intelligence/common sense about people). They are driven to improve, eager to learn, and motivated by being part of a strong team. They take pride in hospitality, enjoy coaching others, and are not afraid of direct communication or high standards.
People who tend to succeed at Forgotten Tonic are energized by fast-paced service, care deeply about the guest experience, and want to be part of a culture that pushes people to grow.
People who do not work out here tend to be lazy, arrogant, or uncomfortable with direct, face-to-face leadership and accountability.
